Explore the history and depth of the iconic, appetizing New York fish magnet, Russ & Daughters, through a film and conversation with former owner Mark Russ Federman. The Sturgeon Queens documentary is filled with mouth-watering interviews by Hattie Russ Gold, Anne Russ Federman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Mario Batali, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morley Safer, and Calvin Trillin. Mark Russ Federman will then share his immigrant family’s journey from a pushcart in 1907 to “New York’s most hallowed shrine to the miracle of caviar, smoked salmon, ethereal herring, and silken chopped liver”.
Join us before the screening and conversation at 6:30 PM for dinner. Dinner will be a kosher-style buffet featuring bagels, various fishes, and desserts from Russ & Daughters Cafe. Doors will open at 6:15pm. Limited tickets available.
