This month’s speaker is Colonel Sharon Davidovich.  Colonel Davidovich will be talking to us about “Tu B’Shvat – Planting Trees and Bringing Water to Israel”

Sharon Davidovich serves as Jewish National Fund’s Shaliach (Emissary) to New England.  Prior to coming to the United States, Colonel Sharon Davidovich spent the last 23 years serving in various positions in the Israel Defense Forces.  While in active military service, Col. Davidovich was the Commanding Officer of Operations in Gaza, Acting Commander for Southern Lebanon’s Eastern Front, and Commander at the Nachal & Gadna Civilian Schools.  Col. Davidovich also actively participated in the Gaza and the West Bank negotiations, and helped implement the resulting objectives with the Palestinian Authority. Col. Davidovich received a MA in National Security and a BA in Public Administration, both from Haifa University.  He earned his MBA from Ben-Gurion University.

The service will be followed by a light kosher Shabbat dinner. Havurah on the Hill asks attendees to make an $18 donation to help support the restoration of Boston’s only remaining immigrant-era shul and future events.

One of HOH’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our programs. The vast majority of our service leaders and speakers are drawn directly from our community. If you or anyone you know are interested in leading services or speaking at an event, please email sjfagen@gmail.com. We are also always looking for volunteers to help at events and work with Council members on various projects. If you’re interested in getting involved, please email maya@vilnashul.com.
