Our Presenter, Rachel Barbanel-Fried, PsyD: Rachel is a specialized presenter on the topic of Good Food: Our Relationship to Food, Ourselves and Each Other. She has trained on the topic of Food as Medicine with some of the country’s most renowned physicians including: James Gordon, Mark Hyman, Cynthia Geyer, and Joel Evans. She has also studied with Jon Kabbat-Zinn and Skai Santorelli and is certified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She is a yoga teacher, clinical psychologist, experienced cook, and mother of two.

Rachel has presented to many groups including the program for Family Medicine Residents at Tufts University, as well as the Primary Care Physicians at Harvard-Vanguard Medical Associates. She has been a teacher for many years and has taught cooking in Bulgaria, Israel and the US. Most recently Rachel was part of the planning committee and ran the kitchen for the Boston Jewish Food Conference where she was in charge of three separate sessions where the participants cooked a healthy, nourishing meal for the 200 person conference.
