Celebrate MLK Day with a community service opportunity offered by the Vilna Shul in partnership with Repair the World and About Fresh. Join us and learn about food insecurity with the About Fresh team and Repair the World Fellows. Together we will pack more than 100 bags of fresh produce to donate to local communities in need. This popular program is back for a second year with even more opportunities for hands-on work.

About Fresh is a Boston-area nonprofit on a mission to strengthen communities by getting healthy food to the households that need it most. Their programs are built to be integrated into community health systems.

  • Fresh Truck mobile markets bring affordable, healthy food to Boston neighborhoods.
  • Fresh Connect is a pre-paid debit card and analytic platform that enables health care providers to cover the cost of healthy food for patients and measure related health impacts.
  • Fresh Box is a direct-to-doorstep contactless delivery of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other grocery staples developed in response to the COVID crisis.

Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world, igniting a lifelong commitment to service.

In 2009, Repair the World began elevating meaningful service as a defining element of Jewish life by engaging Jewish young adults in service and learning to meet pressing local needs. Today, Repair the World activates a national service movement, and mobilizes partners and tens of thousands of Jewish young adults and their communities to serve alongside their neighbors.
