High Holidays at the Vilna Shul with Havurah on the Hill Image

This fall, Havurah on the Hill (HOH), in collaboration with the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts, will once again host High Holidays services at the historic Vilna Shul on Beacon Hill in Boston.

Services will be led by Sarah Bolts and Deborah Melkin. Last year we had a wonderful turnout of both regular shul-goers and first-time visitors, and we look forward to welcoming back those who attended last year as well as those of you who have never been to the Vilna Shul!

HOH’s services are non-denominational, egalitarian, and open to all. Services are conducted in Hebrew with English readings mixed in. As part of our learning service mission, we provide explanations and teachings throughout. Services are community-led with a variety of familiar melodies and tunes for both new-comers and seasoned attendees in which to engage.

Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis, and only 300 tickets will be issued per holiday. Please note this is a pre-paid event. Payment in advance is necessary in order to be on the RSVP list.

We do not mail out tickets; instead your name will be on the pre-paid ticket list at the door. The suggested donations for High Holidays tickets are as follows:

HOH High Holidays Rosh Hashanah
services only
Yom Kippur
services only
Both Rosh Hashanah
and Yom Kippur
General Donations $72 $72 $118
Students $54 $54 $96

Please use the registration form in the sidebar on the right in order to register and you will directed to a paypal checkout page.

Please check that you are purchasing the correct amount of tickets/donation before processing your transaction. Refunds take several days to process.  Any credit card processing fees incurred will be deducted from the refund.

Havurah on the Hill's services are made possible through the help of its community volunteers, and this fall we're looking for Torah readers, Haftarah readers, and Shofar Blowers. English reading parts are also available. Please let us know how you can help and contact Stephen Sansonetti (ssansonetti@gmail.com) for more information.

We are also once again participating in the CJP Ticket Match program. Please contact Barnet Kessel at the Vilna Shul (barnet@vilnashul.org) for more information regarding this initiative.

If you would like to pay by check, please make it payable to Vilna Shul High Holidays. Please enclose the names of all attendees and indicate

     •RH2015 for Rosh Hashanah
     •YK2015 for Yom Kippur
     •HH2015 for both holidays

and send to: The Vilna Shul 18 Phillips Street Boston, MA 02114.
