Join author Karen Winn for a special evening in celebration of the launch of her new book, The Society. Start the evening with hors d'oeuvres and drinks, followed by a lively conversation about the book moderated by fellow Beacon Hill author Jen Blecher.

Karen Winn

Karen is the author of two novels, The Society and Our Little World, published by Dutton/Penguin Random House. She earned her MFA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and for her undergraduate studies she attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she may or may not have belonged to a secret society... Before becoming an author, Karen had a career as a nurse. She lives in the charming Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston with her husband, two children, and their 100—pound Bernedoodle.

Jennifer Blecher

Jennifer Ende Blecher, Moderator

Jennifer Ende Blecher is an author and attorney based in Boston. She began her legal career at The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, where she specialized in domestic violence prosecution. After moving to Boston, Jennifer turned her attention to creative writing and is now the author of four critically acclaimed middle grade novels for young readers. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a juris doctorate degree from the Northeastern School of Law.

Jennifer lives in Beacon Hill with her husband and their three daughters. From the moment she stepped into The Vilna for her first high holiday services in the city, she felt an immediate connection to the space and its history. Jennifer is proud to be part of The Vilna's Board of Directors, and to help The Vilna continue to grow and thrive in the neighborhood she loves.
