Sunday, July 12 at 3:00 PM and Thursday, July 23 at 6:00 PM (same tour offered two times): Jewish Beacon Hill
In the late 19th and early 20th century, the North Slope of Beacon Hill was a neighborhood that was home to a large population of Jewish and Italian new immigrants. This tour focuses on the Jews of the North Slope, who lived an active Jewish life with three synagogues within a few blocks of each other, carrying customs of their old world with them even as they made changes to the new world around them.

May 17: Jewish North End
Few Jews lived in Boston in the 17th and 18th centuries, and a permanent Jewish community didn’t establish itself here until the 1840s. The wave of migration from Eastern Europe of the late 19th century greatly enlarged the city’s Jewish community, and many of the new immigrants of this period moved to the North End. This tour will explore some of the stories of Boston’s Jewish experience from the 17th century through the early 20th century.Tour sold out!

June 14: Lost Boston - Scollay Square and the Old West End
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, two Boston neighborhoods were razed: Scollay Square and the West End. Scollay Square was Boston's seedy entertainment district. The West End was once a vibrant immigrant neighborhood that was demolished during Boston's era of urban renewal. Come walk through these areas, see what buildings remain, and hear stories of what happened both to and in these parts of Boston. Hear how these areas developed, who lived there, and why they no longer exist. Please note that this is not a Jewish specific tour but involves Jewish history since much of the content involving the West End and Scollay Square is intertwined with Jewish history.
